The highly anticipated, well waited for John Lewis Christmas advert has arrived! For many this means "It's Christmas time". After just four hours of the mini film being on youtube, it can already boast 90,180 views! Extraordinary.

 
So if you've not yet seen it- here it is :)

2014 - Monty the Penguin



What do you think? To be completely honest, I am a tiny bit disappointed with it. 
To say that they spent £7 million on this campaign.. I mean, yes it's "sweet" and "Christmas-y"... But I mean, if anything people will want a penguin- and not just a toy one... and last time I checked John Lewis did not sell living Arctic animals.

Nevertheless, I do like the way they capture the fun that children have in their imaginary worlds, and the idea of "Give someone the Christmas they've been dreaming of". So yes, I think it's cute. But worth £7 million? I beg to differ.

My favourite thing about the adverts is the way they capture "love" in each of them. For me Christmas is about love, about giving, and embracing happiness with the people you love. And I think that John Lewis manage to deliver this with each of their ads.



So now comes the big question, and I would love you to answer my poll... Which John Lewis Christmas ad is your favourite?

    I loved last year, but maybe I'm partial to it because I've always loved that song. :) I think I read somewhere that they spent £1 million to make the actual ad and the rest for advertising/media space and all the related promotional activity ad merchandise. Still, that's a massive amount of money! It did make me feel all emotional though, lol.
